Ingredients
- 6 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.25 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 0.5 cup pecans chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Transfer the apple mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish or similar oven-proof dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Add cold butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Sprinkle the pecan crumble evenly over the spiced apple mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- In a medium bowl, whip heavy cream with maple syrup and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Allow the crumble to cool slightly before serving. Top each serving with a dollop of maple whipped cream and enjoy the warm, spiced apples with crunchy pecan topping and creamy whipped cream.
